Canberra’s wine region including Murrumbateman, Hall – Wallaroo and the Lake George region is home to 140 vineyards and 40 cellar doors. The majority are within 35 minutes drive of the CBD. With an emphasis on producing quality cool-climate wines, the Canberra wine region is a must-do for locals and visitors.
The region is well known for its Shiraz (or Syrah), Riesling and Viognier – but you’ll be delighted by the quality of the cool-climate Pinot Noir, Fiano, Vermintino, Chardonnay, Sangiovese and Tempranillo.
